Questions families ask
My mom is not good with technology. Will this work?
That is who we designed it for. If she can open a text message and tap a link, she can do this. The first time, the phone asks to use the camera, and we show a picture of exactly which button to press.
How does my parent agree to get texts?
When you add your parent, we send them one welcome text saying you signed them up and asking them to reply YES. We don't send any questions unless they do. After that it's about one text a week, plus at most one reminder. They can reply STOP anytime to opt out, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. See our Texting Terms and Privacy Policy.
Who can see the recordings?
Only the family members you invite. Nothing is public, and nothing is shared or used for advertising.
What happens to the stories if I cancel?
You can download every recording at any time, sorted by question. They belong to your family.
What if they don't want to be on camera?
Every question can be answered with voice only. Plenty of the best stories are just a voice.
Do they have to answer every week?
No. If a week goes by, we send one gentle reminder and then wait for next Sunday. You can pause anytime.
The best time to ask was years ago. The next best time is this Sunday.
